Hi, ray name is kyle. I go to Lander
University. idiinkit really sucks.
Don't get me wrong .it's better than
: not going to college at allbut the ■■ ■
people & scene here.-is shiL Lander is
located in podunk Greenwood S.C,
Every thursday afternoon I go home
tor the weekend because even though
I hate my parents I hate school even
■: more. Everyone here thinks that
.Nirvana : or Jesus tiz&rd is alternative ,
Also,: for some reason they think: that
: tie : dye :: is cool.i : have, one;: cool friend.
His name is Chris . He listens to
: Outspoken & such: & tries toget me
to sing in our crappy, hardcore band
that -doesn't even: have: a bassist. It
■ makes me sad sometimes: because
soon I'm gonna be a full fledged adult
& unlike my friend Ross I don r t think
F tmgonna.be able to support: myself
with a life of .crime; even though: I do
think it would be fun; I'm not trying
to make a point here: . Just
meandering along on the played out
topics of growing up 8c hating it.

It seems so long ago when I first fell in
love with her. I had just turned 16 and all
I had was the bitter hatred churning
inside. We would ride around for hours
on sunday afternoon with nowhere to go
and not even caring. She taught me alot
about love. But I was young & fucked up
alot. I still do, but she loved me & we
could always work it out somehow. Now
it's four years later and she's moving
away & I'm not really sure what to
do. She's always been there for me & now
I'm gonna have to stand alone. God Damn
I hate to lose.

Bloodlet is one of my favorite new bands. They are fuckin bad as hell and the lyrics are
even backwards sometimes so they can control you subliminaly. Anyway, Me & scott did
this over the phone with Matt. I think it could have turned out better but we suck. Oh, well
enjoy.

SCOTT - So what do you do in the band ?

MATT - 1 play guitar.

SCOTT -Ya'll are playing that big show in Wisconsin

aren't ya'll ?

MATT-no, were not

SCOTT- Really? what happened?

MATT- We were supposed to but we can't. Our bass

player had a prior commitment he had set up for like a

year.

KYLE- 1 was just thinking, ya'll mutherfuckers are like

world travelers. You mutherfuckers go everywhere.

MATT- Yeah, we try

KYLE- Do you have your own van?

MATT -Yeah, I have a van & we use it for the band.

KYLE- First off I guess is are you guys Satan worshipers

or any thing ?Cuz you motherfuckers seem evil as hell

when I read your lyrics.

MATT- Um, religious wise?, I don't really think that we're

evil, thats just the way that we express negative emotions

We're not satanists or anything but as far as our

philosophy, If you've ever read in the Satanic Bible , it's

like the least hypocritical religion. We don't follow any

religion. I mean we don't believe in Satan. Some of us

don't believe in a higher power of any form. Our lifestyle

or philosophy of life we believe in freedom or what the

Satanic Bible might suggest.

KYLE-So typically you're angry youths?

MATT-I don't know if we're still youths. Some of us are

pretty old.

SCOTT- How old are you guys?

MATT-Our drummer Charlie is 17. Our bass player is 20

Our other guitarist and myself are 22 and Scott the singer

is 21.

KYLE- so how old is old?

MATT-I would say the difference
be£#en hardcore bands and metal
hands arc there goals, what they're
trying to achieve.! think that alot of
hardcore music is cutting edge
metal .It's just the scene it comes from.I
think that alot of metal bands don't
really have alot of emotion behind
their music, and I think that hardcore
bands have alot of emotion.
KYLE? ydii were saying that their
goals are differant, so what are you're
goals? ■

Matt-MiisicaUy, just to write good
music to put out good music. We don't
have plans to make music our life or to
make alot of money off music.

KYLE- theres this girl named ANKA

This page was originally a
different page that I had
written about an incident that
happened here in Columbia. I
finally realized that I
shouldn't have put this certain
page in, and that it would only
cause problems. The crazy
thing is, it just totally
astonishes me to see what kind
of effect one printed page can
do. Friends hating friends,
people being childish and
throwing things, without being
man enough to step up face to
face, etc. Anyway, I am
stepping forward to apologize
on what happened. I'm sorry
to all the people that were put
in the middle of this. I'm
especially sorry for people
who were accused of choosing
sides by idiots who DIDN'T
have anything to do with any
part of this what so ever. I am
just so sick of all these cold
wars. I don't expect certain
people to like me anymore,
and this is not going to make
me like certain people or
bands anymore than I
previously did. When it all
went down though I saw who
my true friends were. I am
very sorry to a few certain
people (names aren't

5 TIME AGAIN FOR ANOTHER
UN FILLED E.T.S. TOUR DIARY.

ME & SCOTI WENT IN

FERANT CARS SO OUR TRIPS
WERE D1FFERANT.

WAY.HERES MY STORY

V 1 - Mv friend Chris Masse v had
. .iJy driven to Wilmington N.C. to
book, up with Greg Straight Edge. We
.- gonna hook up with Mark &
le from Conway S:C. and Gregs
Shend Steye & we were all gonna go
> in gregs van. If you've never seen
:gs van- it's a toyota van with
.kers all over it & STRAIGHT
3X5E real big across the front
rindshielS, anyway ,Mark & Nicole
me ,C^ffis & steve all hopped in the

&;Maded up north to beautiful
rw Bedford. We were supposed to
:t Scott & the people he rode with
it 4 hrs away. When we left
Wilmington it was nice outside & we
ere comftorable wealing t-shirts.

.ever about 3 hrj|ip : the road we
";ed it started to;- get cold and it
tis raining real bad* Scott & his ride
:- Jed ttp being- 2 hrs late bux we
-jlh : looked up with them.
Greg had rigged this hammock up
I his van & it was hooked to a 2x4
-* r. ; j h was ' wedged ■ someho w in his
toof. Anyway; J was chillin in this
:ammock &T noticed it was getting

::>:::: .::■:-.■ .■■.:■.*»*■ ■ ■ -.*-*■

. Jcr & colder : so I tell greg to turn
a the heat, 'The Heater doesn't :
:k° was what I heard. Hmrara.
Vccdles to say another hour down the
^J the windshield iced up and with
■ defrost we couldn't see & we had
ruil off the side of the road every
i minutes to scrape office, R was

BEDFORD

cold as hell & we were all bitching at
greg for not thinking to fix the heater.
All this time I'rnchilling in the
hammock which happens to be above
nicoles head. Now the scary shit starts
happening, we're not even out of N.C.
and the roads ice up. The van started
sliding all over the place & we were
all screaming & shit. Then we hit this
big fucking patch & the van flys up
on 2 wheels like the dukes of hazard

■ : : &. we start sliding. The fucking
hammock with me in it flies out & the

:2x4 comes out & hits Nicole square
in the head. Anyway. : wc : got- seared <fe
decided that we better stop; so we all
pulled into this gas station to look for
something to fix the ice accumulation.
NO one had a portable heater & all
we could get was deicer in a spray

can . Scott & his

ride decided that

they wanted to

make it to Rhode

island to see earth

crisis so they left

while we figured

out how to get back

on the road/

fuckers.

Well we decided

that if we went 5

miles an rlbujc : and; : ■■

kept spraying..;

deicer on the ■■

window then- we :

could make it, Sure

it was dumb but

we're stupid: .

people.; -As soon as ';

we got on the .

interstate we

started sliding- . .

again . This time we decided to get a
hotel & sleep & try again tomorrow.
When we got to the hotel it was full
so we ended up sleeping in the van. It;
was so fucking cold. There were
icicles onfthe inside of the roof. No
fucking 3i|.

■ :^;:. ■; :;:■ ■ .:■ :' ::■■ :

DAY 2- We get up about 8 an. We
all have some wrestling matches in
the van to stay warm. Somehow greg
knocks the van out of gear & we start \
rolling towards a foreign man talking
on the phone: ; When he saw this big
van rolling towards him he started §|;
waving & making a fucked up noise. -: :
Greg was in the back wrestling so we
couldn't stop it but we weren't going
veryfast so when we hit the curb We .:

stopped. Later on we finally got into a
hotel & slept all day waiting for some
of the ice to melt. Later on we got up
around 6 & headed out. We stopped
at Walmart to find a heater & had to
beg them to let us in (they were
closing at 6 due to the ice) No luck so
we kept on trucking.

icer, anyway, Steve had a grandma in
D.C. that we spent the night with. She
was nice and made us cheese
sandwhiches (not for greg or nicole
though, they're vegan) The next
morning we left & didn't really have
that much trouble because it had
stopped raining. Wc were still really

around, We ate at pizza hut and then
cruised over to where the show was
going on. We met this guy who said if
we brought in equipment we could
get in for free , so ya know , we got in
free, The shit was heavy but ya know
we got in free.

Once we loaded the stuff we hung

DAY-3 WE drove all the way to D.C.
getting there about 1 am . By then we
were all frozen solid, Greg almost had
frostbite from driving with the win-
dow open so that he could spray de

cold though, we finaiy arrived in new
bedford after The girl gave us the
wrong directions & we drove all the
way to boston about 2 hours out of
our way. We finnally decided on a
DAYS INN which was expensive as

hell.

We

up

early &
went
driving

around & talked to people & then we
left to go to the mall, there was this
woman there who kept on looking at
us & Greg shouted real loud" Yes,
we're humans too." I thought it was
rude but everyone else thought it was
funny. We also met some kids from
Canada which was cool.

Once we got back to the concert
hall they wouldn't let anyone in until
6 oclock It was cold as shit & it made
me mad.

STRIFE , EARTH CRISIS,
BLOODLET, and SNAPCASE
played . There were a bunch of other
but I couldn't name them all. Earth
Crisis kinda sucked, Ben wasn't there
so it just wasn't the same.
Anyway, after the show we leave &
look for a new place to stay. WE were
gonna stay with Scott & split the cost
but the guys he was with were really
big babies and started crying about
how they were gonna get kicked out

Vfe and my man scott did this thing over the phone with Daryl, 1 think it-Turned out piiet ly good, Aii>\vay, these guys

I.

I friends being hockey players.
The Chokehold guys are'nt far
from us & we always want to play
them in football or something but
they always want to play us in
■: hockey. You don't really want to
-play Canadians in hockey.

| E.T. S. - Yeah 1 know they're all
big & wooly! I wouldn't want to
play chokehold.

E.T.S. What did ya set your mom

Daryl- 1 got her a card & I put a little
picture of myself and her in there from a
long time ago.

E.T.S.- That's sweet.

Daryl- Yeah, She got all sentimental on

me & started crying

E.T.S.- Are ya'll a straight edge band?

Daryl- yeah, Everybody in the band is
straight edge,we don't really focus on
advertising ourselves as a straight edge
band.
E.T.S. -You were saying something to

the effect that you had been offered a
deal to do something on equal vision.
Are you into all that Krishna stuff?

Daryl- Our bass player & our guitar
player both are interested, um they , I
guess they're looking for spiritual

guidance.

E.T.S. are you gonna do the record on
Equal Vision?

Daryl- We're really happy with Victory
We've got a contract to do more things
with Victory.

E.T.S.- When do you plan on doing ;
new release?

Daryl -We're recording in September
for an ep , 4 or 5 songs and maybe
put a live song on there, Hopefully a
