A minimal tape dispenser/roller for Scotch tape (for rolls with an internal diameter of 25mm, external diameter up to 55mm). Uses a piace of blade cut from a cling-film (or other kitchenware) roll, cut to a lenght of 20mm. This is a packing tape dispenser I designed to only use printed parts. Once the tape is dispensed, it can be cut with a box cutter or a pair of scissors, and the two pads keep the tape from sticking to the spool of tape, and keeps the dispensed tape from sticking to anything it isn't supposed to after it's cut. There is also a notch on the side of the dispenser so that you can tell how how much tape is left. If you end up printing this, I would love to see photos of the print!

I needed a way to quickly apply tape directly to a surface. Here's what I came up with. It's still a work in progress. I hope to clean up and update... someday. Let me know what you think! If you download this thing, please "like" or "collect" it. Here's a minimalist tape-roll holder that mounts to walls. This will work with standard sized rolls of adhesive tape, such as masking tape, painters tape, packing tape, duct tape, Gorilla tape, etc. Print without supports. Washi Tape dispenser I designed on CAD. I provided the STL file for the center rod, but chose the cheaper and quicker option of using a wooden dowel. A one inch dowel from your local hardware store will fit perfectly and costs less than a dollar. The outside edges are filleted, so be mindful when choosing the type of supports. I used "grid" and it worked fine, but have had issues using "line" in the past on filleted surfaces for some reason... Print took about 17hrs and 80g...

Found a tape dispenser at my shop without the tape holder spindle/wheel (or whatever its called) so I busted out the calipers and got to work. Pretty simple design and works perfectly. Had to do a bit of sanding on the peg insert since my tolerances we .25mm. Printed on my Creality CR10S, sliced with Cura, and designed with Shapr3D on my iPad Pro. Resolution was .28, with no infill, just walls! Took about an hour but worth it!

Firstly I removed the pegboard holder aspect and added 4 x 4mm holes as I was looking to mount onto wooden shed wall. It became obvious once printed that this was for much larger tape measures than my meagre 5M ones. So back to the drawing board (fusion 360 and Prusa slicer. I ordered the wrong type of tape for the office and needed a dispenser... I added a second Base without the honeycomb holes. The axis is a M5 x 35mm bolt with a M5 lock nut. For the blade I used a broken blade from a cutter and superglued it in place. The tape is no. 462-9986 from RS-online.com.

I ship a lot of things and nothing is more frustrating than the roll of tape falling off the spool or moving just enough to wrinkle the tape so I came up with this replacement spool that locks the roll of tape to the spool using a 3mm bolt. There are two different versions that fit various tape dispensers. This one prints up without supports and the mounting magnet is optional. The plastic cutter works ok, but making one out of brass or aluminum might be better. The magnet cutout is for a 12mm round magnet of any depth from 2-12mm. I used a 3mm deep x 12mm round, glued in after printing. ProTip: Paint a swatch of super glue on the round part of the cutter where the tape meets it to provide a better surface area for the tape to stick to. The roll on tape dispenser are too brittle. Fortunately this will solve your problem if you own a 3d printer. No need for supports or bed adhesion, insert the pin inside the wheel after printing. It's better if you wait for the pin to cool down before removing it from the build plate. Otherwise it may warp.
