R&D Report 1966-33 : The transmission of television signals in a narrow bandwidth using frequency modulation W. Wharton, R.E. Davies, P.H.C. Legate The use of frequency modulation for the transmission of television signals through a fused-quartz ultrasonic delay gives a high degree of gain stability and relatively low impairment due to spurious echoes. However the bandwidth available in fused quartz delays of 1 ms delay and above is limited and may be less than twice the highest video...

Frequency zero was founded in Oceanside Long Island by Steven Hayes in the spring of 1994. Driven on electronica sounds and ghostlike harmonies the group began production on a set of new and experimental songs that would provide a errie vocal nostalgia but with an edge. Late in August 1998 Frequency Zero came in contact with keyboardist Dominick Ricciardi and DPR Studios. A well glued match was made and the newly formed Frequency Zero began production on there debut album "Intricate...

Soul-o-flex and Ricochet are long time hip hop fans and songwriters. The music is full of live instrumentation (something rap is lacking nowadays) and it is all following a path of positivity and creativity. Too much music out there has a negative vibe for no apparent reason other than an artists false attempts to sound hard. This is not the goal with FUNDAMENTAL FREQUENCY. We try and make music a fun experience, and invite the audience to have an equally entertaining time listening. Humor and...

Third Frequency was born in the summer of 1995. The initial bond was made between vocalist Todd Wickersheim and guitarist Winston Campbell. The two had a blossoming interest in the different dimensions of modern rock. The influences ranged from Nirvana, Soundgarden, to R.E.M. and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Adding to the band was high-school friend Gary Nunez (bass) and heavy rock drummer Ted Chernishuk. After writing a slew of songs, 3F set out on its expansive tour of New Jersey in the summer of...

Most satellites rely on a ground control station to command their payloads and through which they download data from their payloads. The Naval Postgraduate School?s satellite (NPSAT1) is no exception. The spacecraft?s payloads, which include the Coherent Electromagnetic Radio Tomography (CERTO), Langmuir probe, Configurable Fault Tolerant Processor (CFTP), as well as the Visible Wavelength Imager (VISIM), all generate data that require collection on the ground through a radio frequency...

A frequency hopping (FH) technique in which symbols are transmitted as unique multiple hop sequences is the basis of this research. The receiver, of primary interest, uses a phase locked loop as a frequency to voltage converter and then uses difference amplifier circuits to compare the received sequence with all utilized sequences for data recovery. This report presents the design and results of this PH technique. A bit probability of error of 0.001 at 1.6 dB SNR was obtained.

The introduction of this micro grids into the conventional distribution network system forces a new challenge to the system operation. The failure factor of the power system performance essentially due to the limitation of electrical power generation in which could not meet the load demand. In order to maintain the frequency stability of the system, the power sources must be matched instantaneously among all generators and constantly supply to the load demand. A deviation of system frequency...

The aim of this paper is to investigate the performance of the Low Complexity Welch Power Spectral Density Computation (PSDC). This algorithm is an improvement from Welch PSDC method to reduce the computational complexity of the method. The effect of the sampling rate and the input frequency toward to accuracy of frequency detection is being evaluated. From the experiment results, sampling rate nearest to the twice of the input frequency provides the highest accuracy which achieved 99%. The...

This thesis compares the efficacy of spectrum assignment and allocation using a market-based system with the current government-controlled regulatory system. In making this comparison, a brief review of the spectrum and its radio communication uses is given. An examination of the current system-historical, organizational and political-is also presented. The spectrum is then discussed as a resource in relation to its economic characteristics: supply, demand, opportunity costs, prices,...

Introduction. This paper is devoted to the development of a method for estimating the current time-frequency parameters of each of a set of simultaneously and independently operating generators in the radio electronic system. A general case is considered, in which the deviation of true values of the nominal generator parameters from the assumed values of these parameters is determined not only by random, but also by long-term frequency deviation. The work objective is to generalize the...

The demand for allocations and assignments in the radio frequency spectrum continues to grow in the United States and internationally. The unique properties of the spectrum combined with this growing demand have created a significant managment challenge for the Federal Goverment. As a principal user of the spectrum, the military services are especially dependent upon the national spectrum management processes. Effective command and control of forces and optimum use of electronic sensory,...

All presently known frequency hopping (FH) systems transmit digital data. Consequently a clock is a typical part of the system. This research consists of a breadboard realization of a FH transmitter and receiver. Voice and/or music in analog form are transmitted using a FH carrier. Hopping is random in time and pseudo-random in frequency. The message which is recovered and heard using a speaker is of good quality.

A physiological basis for the term \"preferred frequency\" is presented. Computer modeling schemes are shown to be useful in the conceptualization of neural circuits. The Bioengineering Laboratory effort in EEG work at the Naval Postgraduate School is described. A method is developed for the investigation and analysis of \"preferred frequency\" patterns resulting from a pseudo-random tasked activity. Data are presented supporting the concept of a task related...

I made second level for my desk and wanted to mount my frequency counter to the board. The case has holes for wires and banana jacks. Wrap some electrical tape around the 9V battery. Remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1257810 The lid is new as well, made to friction fit into place. Mine is covered in some aluminum duct tape for shielding and to make a sort of hinge on the back to replace the battery. The case mounts to a 3/4" (17.3 mm) board. Two versions have been uploaded....

R&D Report 1980-09 : A set of time varying television test patterns. M. Weston The zone plate is now established as a powerful diagnostic tool in the study of television processing systems. This Report introduces the time variable, resulting in a family of related patterns which still further increase the usefulness of this approach. These patterns can readily be generated electronically and an indication of the method is given.
