Mrs. Walter Haas, founder of the Michael and Sarah Stein collection of the San Francisco Museum of Art, recalls her friendship with the couple after they fled Europe in 1938 and took up residence in Palo Alto. Interviewed in her Atherton home by Rena Down and Charles Amirkhanian, she recalls her meetings with Matisse and Toklas and discusses Matisse’s “La Femme a Chapeau”, which hung on a nearby wall but a few feet from the KPFA microphone.

Charles Amirkhanian interviews Ingrid Sischy and Anthony Korner, the editor and publisher of “Artforum” magazine respectively. They discuss the new direction in which they have taken this venerable art magazine and in particular the April 1982 edition that features a sound sheet of "X=X", a musical work by Laurie Anderson, quite a feat for a print magazine.

He talks with Don Buchla, who currently is adapting his synthesizers to computer control, Richard Friedman, composer and programmer who helped design the Buchla program, and Charles Amirkhanian. The Nostalgia EP is an album that is based off dreams andmemories, and the connections between the two. This was my first album ofelectronic music ever released, so it was recorded and produced in atransitional period for me. I used a fair amount of sampling, special effects, acoustic guitars, and vocals. I hope you enjoy the final product.
