This is a more complex and larger part based on the same basic geometry as Lumen2 and Lumen4. I added a base because there wasn't enough contact area between the part and the print bed, and it broke loose at about 50% complete. This part printed in 26 1/4 hours @ 0.200 mm layer height.

This is a very small five slider trammel of Archimedes, it requires 5 #3 screws which are no longer than .3 in and one #8 screw which is no longer than .5 inches to assemble. As well as the appropriate washers (5 x #3, and 1 x #8). This was drawn in Solidworks and printed on the Form 2, I have included two different "base" files the standard is probably best for standard FDM printing but if you are using an SLA setup I have included a hollowed out file to reduce resin waste.

What happens when you take some stalks made from twisting, tapering extruded ellipses and have them bulge out and then taper together to a point? Well, this is what you get. With an overall shape of a stereotypical candle flame, what else can I call it? This OpenSCAD object is my favorite at the moment. Like most of the others I've based on twisting and bending columns, it's made up of many thin slices stacked on top of each other and thus takes a while to render (17 minutes on my 3.2GHz i7)....

These figures are a reinterpretation of the classic penrose mosaics. If you print them on this scale, you will get very manageable pieces. You must have at least 20 of each to be able to create really interesting mosaics, but they are pretty quick to print.

Just a remix using the nice script made by bda It is a vase with 13 sides a bit large so you can put some stuff inside Render in OpenSCAD and save the STL (it takes a few minutes), the generated STL is huge about 300MB

This design is based on Henry Segerman's fantastic examples of spherical projections. It was Henry's pictures that got me interested in 3D printing. Thanks Dr. Segerman! So I modified his idea and built a triangle of triangles as a test. I printed one Kaleidocycle from [Vitroid](https://www.thingiverse.com/Vitroid/about), but after I break some hinges, i ask the basic shape in scad, and redesign the hinges. I used 25mm d=2mm metal bars for rolling point.

Playing with Openscad, I created a model for a shell similar to that of nautilus. Two STL files are provided, one for the half of the shell (so that the inner parts are visible), the other for the whole object. I intend to try other parametrizations for more convoluted shells. This one is a first version, one of the simplest possible.

This lesson is designed for an algebra class that has a firm understanding of quadratic equations and how to graph them. Students will sketch a picture on graph paper by hand using only parabolas. They will then use an online graphing calculator to recreate their design in the computer. This design will then be printed out, scanned, and converted to a SVG file. The students will then use this SVG file and TinkerCAD to create a 3D model of their original 2D design.

The original file was difficult to open by most of the 3D printing software, so I rebuilt it and also cut a little flat plane at the bottom of it, which can be easier to print. With FLUX Delta 3D printer, it can be printed without support and rafts. However it's suggested to turn on both of them while printing with other kinds of printers. The Mobius0328.stl is reduced which make its file smaller, but if you are not going to print it really large, there won't be any difference to the larger...

Yet another Voronoi style lamp. I was inspired by Marellov "Voronoi lamp " (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:584714) and wanted to do my own in OpenSCAD. This is a triply periodic Gyroid surface modeled in Rhino and MeshLab. Inspired by the work of Dzingof and Bathsheba, I wanted to model my own version. The model here is approximately an 80mm cube with 3mm walls. I printed it at 80% scale to save some time, and it came out beautifully. Enjoy!

A little collection of sphericons designed with Solidworks 2016. They have sharp grooves which make it easier to paint. Also included are screen shots of design sketches which may help if you design with another program. They are designed in two halves which are connected by a 5/8 long 1/4 inch wood dowel allowing the two halves to rotate for an interesting effect. They roll in an unusual way also. No need for supports. Have Fun

These models were part of an exploration of architectural forms. They were made with a variety of programs. The Hex Twist with Solidworks, the Twisted Coin Tower with Grasshopper/Rhino, the torus with Mathmod. Meshmixer tuned up the meshes and they were sliced with Simplify3d and printed on a modified Anycubic Kossel Delta. Hope you enjoy.

All these models were printed with support and rafts. The shapes are challenging to print so on some I used .1mm layer height and 2 or 3 shells. Also the multi mobius has 30% infill to support near horizontal areas. Enneper was printed on edge due to horizontal surface, see photo. I had avoided hard to print shapes but really its not so difficult and it opens up more possibilities. MathMod was used as well as grasshopper/rhino.

For the Mountain Lakes Public Library Math Day I designed this mini abacus (65 mm x 65 mm) with five holes and enough room for 7 beads per rod. This is a great make and take project. The mini abacus 3d print takes anywhere between 25 and 40 minutes depending upon the number of walls you print with and infill%. I prefer 3 walls and 35% infill, which at 75 mm/sec speed and .24 resolution, prints in 37 minutes. To complete the abacus, use pipe cleaners as the rods and perler beads as the counters....
