In this work we propose and study a three field mixed formulation for solving the Stokes problem with Tresca-type non-linear boundary conditions. Two Lagrange multipliers are used to enforce div(u)=0 constraint and to regularize the energy functional. The resulting problem is discretised using "P1 bubble/P1-P1" finite elements. Error estimates are derived and several numerical studies are achieved.

Using density functional theory and LDA+U method, we investigate magnetic and electronic structure of Y$_{2}$Ir$_{2}$O$_{7}$ and rare-earth based pyrochlore iridates. Stochastic quantization offers the opportunity to simulate field theories with a complex action. In some theories unstable trajectories are prevalent when a constant stepsize is employed. We construct algorithms for generating an adaptive stepsize in complex Langevin simulations and find that unstable trajectories are completely eliminated. To illustrate the generality of the approach, we apply it to the three-dimensional XY model at nonzero chemical potential and the heavy dense limit of QCD.
