This bundle comes with a cycle tracking program and a diet and nutrition assistant. The monthly cycle tracking tool is called MSWoman. It keeps track of your reproductive cycle to make predictions about upcoming dates. It tells you when you are most likely to be fertile, and provides additional information, hints and advice. The diet and nutrition assistant -- called eDietManager -- helps you manage daily nutrition, exercise, and health. You set fitness and weight objectives and then track and...

The low-lying bound states of a microscopic quantum many-body system of $n$ particles and the related physical observables can be worked out in a truncated $n$--particle Hilbert space. We present here a non-perturbative analysis of this problem which relies on a renormalisation concept and work out the link with perturbative approaches.

By considering the local vector current between nucleon states and imposing charge conservation we determine, for $O(a)$ improved Wilson fermions, its renormalisation constant and quark mass improvement coefficient. The computation is performed for both quenched and two flavour unquenched fermions.

Interstellar material surrounding an extrasolar planetary system interacts with the stellar wind to form the stellar astrosphere, and regulates the properties of the interplanetary medium and cosmic ray fluxes throughout the system. Advanced life and civilization developed on Earth during the time interval when the Sun was immersed in the vacuum of the Local Bubble and the heliosphere was large, and probably devoid of most anomalous and galactic cosmic rays. The Sun entered an outflow of...

We report self-consistent quasiclassical calculations of spontaneous currents and magnetic moments in finite size unconventional superconducting systems, namely: (i) in isolated d-wave superconductor islands where, in addition to the dominant order parameter (with a d_{x^2-y^2} symmetry), a subdominant order parameter of s or d_{xy} symmetry is added; (ii) in grain boundary junctions between two arbitrarily oriented d-wave superconductors, and between a d-wave and an s-wave superconductor. We...

The aim of this chapter is to describe two situations where positive noise correlations can be directly monitored using a transport experiment, either with a superconductor or with a correlated electron system. To be more precise, the present text reflects the presentations made by the three authors during the Delft NATO workshop. Bell inequalities and quantum mechanical non-locality with electrons injected from a superconductor will be addressed first. Next, noise correlations will be computed...

We study a system of electrons on a one-dimensional lattice, interacting through the long range Coulomb forces, by means of a variational technique which is the strong coupling analog of the Gutzwiller approach. The problem is thus the quantum version of Hubbard's classical model of the generalized Wigner crystal [J. Hubbard, Phys. Rev. B 17, 494 (1978)]. The magnetic exchange energy arising from quantum fluctuations is calculated, and turns out to be smaller than the energy scale governing...

We perform the QCD testing of the Quasilocal Quark Model (QQM) based on Operator Product Expansion (OPE). The quark current correlators calculated in framework of the model, are compared to their OPE in QCD at intermediate energies. The QQM provides a reasonable resolution for mass spectrum of parity doublers in scalar and vector meson channels.

Any Monte Carlo event generator in which only initial state radiation (ISR) is implemented, or ISR is simulated independently of the final state radiation (FSR), may feature too many photons with large transverse momenta, which deform the topology of events and result in too strong an overall energy loss due to ISR. This overproduction of ISR photons happens in the presence of the final state particle close to the beam particle of the same electric charge. It is often said that the lack of the...

We give a class of three-dimensional Stein spaces W together with a hypersurface H, such that the complement W-H is not Stein, but such that for every analytic surface S \subset W the complement S-S \cap H is Stein. This class is constructed using forcing equations and gives new counter-examples to the hypersection problem.

We demonstrate the use of frequency-encoded light masks in neutral atom lithography. We demonstrate that multiple features can be patterned across a monotonic potential gradient. Features as narrow as 0.9 microns are fabricated on silicon substrates with a metastable argon beam. Internal state manipulation with such a mask enables continuously adjustable feature positions and feature densities not limited by the optical wavelength, unlike previous light masks.

We present a new source separation method which maximizes the likelihood of a model of noisy mixtures of stationary, possibly Gaussian, independent components. The method has been devised to address the problem of imaging CMB anisotropies. It works in the spectral domain where, thanks to two simple approximations, the likelihood assumes a simple form which is easy to handle (low dimensional sufficient statistics) and to maximize (via the EM algorithm).

In this paper, we present the methodology of photometric redshift determination with the BATC 15-color system by using hyperz program. Both simulated galaxies and real galaxies with known redshifts were used to estimate the accuracy of redshifts inferred from the multicolor photometry. From the test with simulated galaxies, the uncertainty in the inferred redshifts is about $0.02\sim0.03$ for a given range of photometric uncertainty of $0.05 \sim 0.10$. The results with the 27 real galaxies are...

There are at least four well known Very Long Baseline Interferometer (VLBI) networks that provide open access to astronomers around the world. These include the EVN, VLBA, CMVA and APT/LBA. In this paper I have chosen to focus on a sub-set of these facilities, in particular the European VLBI Network, both in stand-alone mode but also as a major component of a Global VLBI Network, involving MERLIN and the VLBA.

We study discrete isospectral symmetries for the classical acoustic spectral problem in spatial dimensions one and two, by developing a Darboux (Moutard) transformation formalism for this problem. The procedure follows the steps, similar to those for the Schr\"{o}dinger operator. However, there is no one-to-one correspondence between the two problems. The technique developed enables one to construct new families of integrable potentials for the acoustic problem, in addition to those...

The paper (in Swedish) , completed with an extensive bibliography (mostly in English) , refers to the perceived process of bureaucratization of the university and shift of focus from teaching and research to administration and politics. It can be related to the debate on the New Public Management originating in sytems analysis in public policy , and to the phenomenon of so-called political correctness. The bibliography takes in account the criticism that historically has been directed...

We comment on the relation between Berry phase and quantized Hall conductivities for charge and spin currents in some Bloch states, such as Bloch electrons in the presence of electromagnetic fields and quasiparticles in the vortex states of superfluid $^3$He. One can find out that the arguments presented here are closely related to the spontaneous polarization in crystalline dielectrics and the adiabatic pumping.

In models with universal extra dimensions (i.e. in which all Standard Model fields, including fermions, propagate into compact extra dimensions) momentum conservation in the extra dimensions leads to the conservation of Kaluza--Klein (KK) number at each vertex. KK number is violated by loop effects because of the orbifold imposed to reproduce the chiral Standard Model with zero modes, however, a KK parity remains at any order in perturbation theory which leads to the existence of a stable...

During the 1950s tensions twice flared in the Taiwan Strait. From 1954 through 1955 and again in 1958 armed conflict between the People's Republic of China and the United States seemed imminent. During this period, Americans were troubled especially by the buildup and activity of the People's Liberation Army Air Force. Knowing whoever controlled the sky also controlled the surface, Eisenhower and his advisors kept an eye on the Chinese Communist air force. Many U.S. actions can be explained by...

We have investigated the classical stability of magnetically charged black $p$-brane solutions for string theories that include the case studied by Gregory and Laflamme. It turns out that the stability behaves very differently depending on a coupling parameter between dilaton and gauge fields. In the case of Gregory and Laflamme, it has been known that the black brane instability decreases monotonically as the charge of black branes increases and finally disappears at the extremal point. For...
