Because you are banned, Tito. You've already been warned, you had your account locked for 30 days, and when you wouldn't comply with our terms of service, the third step is bannishment.

This is not a pissing contest. This is us complying with our policies. You have already had your chances, and we would appreciate it if you simply became a non-verbal user of the Archive.

We are a small non-profit and we don't have many resources. Please leave quietly so we can get on with our jobs of creating a peaceful digital library for all to share.

Administrative Director

Quote from Molly:
"We are a small non-profit and we don't have many resources. Please leave quietly so we can get on with our jobs of creating a peaceful digital library for all to share."

I'd like to re-iterate this point for everyone. Please keep in mind that we are a very small entity serving up TONS and TONS of music to the masses. I understand that it's hard for people to be empathetic to the situation when there is such a feeling of entitlement but please try to grasp this point. Most of us here are volunteers and those who aren't are probably overworked and underpaid for the service they provide to society as a whole.

Please just be nice.

We have nothing against anyone saying what they want to say but please, let's keep it relevant to the forums we are posting in! If you want to post about a certain era of Grateful Dead, then do so! And keep it positive! If you want to talk about Oshe and Lotus and how fresh their groove is, please do so! But please let us all squash the negativity! I see no reason for so much negativity in a place that is full of such positve vibes. I've never been involved in something that is so positive and so selfless in a long time. To ruin that feeling with negativity is a truly selfish act. To berate others and claim censorship is a truly selfish act. I'm not trying to spotlight any one person here. I've seen it from a number of people in the past, not just one.

I ask. I plead with everyone to let the positive vibes flow. If you have to be critical of a bands' music, please do so with the understanding that everybody's taste is relative and it is so for a reason. If everyone's tastes were the same, it would be a damn boring world to live in and I for one, am glad that tastes are in such a shotgun pattern.

Thank you to everyone who has refrained from being not nice, even though the bait was so tempting. Thanks to everyone who has decided that positive vibrations are what drives the world and negativity is what kills it.

best,
Tom Horton - LMA Volunteer

Thumbs up for the positivity, Tom! :) If you want to post about a certain era of Grateful Dead, then do so! And keep it positive! If you want to talk about Oshe and Lotus and how fresh their groove is, please do so! I'll add: To help turn on fellow fans better- old or new- please include the name of the band you are discussing somewhere in your post. Full name is even better since some nontraders will not always know certain abbreviations. Thanks! Diana- LMA volunteer

I agree 100% but the people on here have been pretty vigilant lately about "their right" to give their opinion on anything from others' opinions to "smelly hippies". Someone tried to bait me into "trash talk" again last night and I withheld. Good luck!!!!

Agreed. I feel everyone wants to try to “live forever”. You know, get their name associated with some Nobel/World changing cause.

For example, you will also notice now that whitehouse.com is no longer an adult website, but the archive has a record of it being one, unless they decide to get on board with a robots.txt file and choose to remove that info.

Also, some people are having trouble supporting the FreeNet, because of it’s extremely adult nature.

Finally, everyone has their own agenda. One can only hope that they are using their agenda to prevent negative things from happening.
