Sizarr -- the trio made up of Deaf Sty, P Monaee and Red Bull Music Academy graduate Gora Sou -- are one of the most exciting bands in Germany at the moment, melding electronic production sensibilities with emotive indie vocals and influences that run the gamut from 90s hip hop to tropical rave.
Coinciding with the release of their new single 'Purple Fried', we follow the members of Sizarr to Mannheim -- where Deaf Sty and P Monaee share an apartment -- and Landau, the tiny town in the countryside of Southwest Germany where the three met and grew up together. It's a candid, intimate portrait, detailing the artists' lives and backgrounds, away from the glare or glamour of the stage and road.
The documentary marks the first in a new series by Red Bull Music Academy called 'Hometown Heroes', with more honest glimpses of upcoming musicians forthcoming in 2013.
