Rutland Railroad steam locomotive 45 with tender with a boxcar and combination car at the Alburg railroad station. There is a baggage cart on the platform and a Central Vermont car on tracks on the other side of the station. The train is west bound and will soon be on the trestle to Rouses Point, New York.

Construction of the Rutland-Canadian Railroad from Colchester, Vermont out on Lake Champlain to South Hero Island, using marble rip-rap. A very small locomotive says "O'Brien and Sheehan Contractors" on the side and there are temporary tracks running out to the causeway in the distance. The Rutland-Canadian Railroad was consolodated into the Rutland Railroad in 1901.

Postmarked Richmond, Feb. 1908 (?) and addressed to Miss M. L. Farrand, Essex, Vermont. The message says, "It snows here. The roads are bad up this way. When any of you come up bring Aunt some soda mint tablets." Railroad station in Richmond, Vermont, with Central Vermont caboose #56 on the tracks with a freight car and a Richmond sign on the end of the station. A bandstand is in the small park in the foreground with four park benches nearby and a fence next to the sidewalk.

Train wreck in Bolton on March 11, 1924. The Boston and Maine Express derailed due to a broken rail at 4:40 am. The engineer was Harry Palmer and the locomotive was #232. There were 3 fatalities including a 3 month old infant and there were about 60 injuries. The river in the foreground is the Winooski.
