Unus Annus was an ongoing puzzle/project that was launched on
November 15th, 2019 and deleted November 14th, 2020. It was made by Ethan "CrankGameplays" Nestor and
Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach. The main point is that the channel will be
deleted 1 year after the first video got uploaded. The project's theme
is about death and time as Unus Annus in Latin is "One Year" and Memento
Mori in Latin is "remember death". The channel is very Terrible and
must be deleted to sustain the theme.

Subject: The nostalgia hits harder than my GPA
I tried so hard to keep true to the original wishes of Mark, Ethan, and Amy. For almost 2 years I held off and just watched the clips and compilations.
But it’s always the same couple clips, the funniest bits or the most out of pocket stuff. But I always kept thinking about the clips that hit home to me, like mark speaking to the therapist about why he’s so hard on his past self. The guys bonding and slowly going from “mark getting annoyed at ethan and ethan trying alittle to hard for attention to them mellowing out and being completely comfortable with each other’s presence”. The real stuff that people passed over in turn to save the most gut busting stuff.
All of its good but I kept missing the whole thing you know? And it’s been a rough couple of years for sure, and it’s getting more and more stressful out there and just so damn hard to live life without fighting to pay for your existence so I remembered this place existed.
Clicking that first video, seeing it in full, then watching the next and the next. Didn’t realize almost 2 hours had passed, 5 in the morning, and I had a smile on my face the entire time. One of those smiles you get when you watch vids of you and your family when you were younger. Goofy shit and things you miss doing with them.
Really sank in how much Unus Annus meant to me, that something I only knew for a year, would hit me the same way something I’ve held onto for 23 years would.
I would come home from Uni every day and just plop down and immediately watch the newest Unus Annus video. I would see the notif while in class and get excited and fight the urge to watch bits of it then and there cause it was like a fucking treat for me. A prize if I got though the day and didn’t ignore the lesson. If I didn’t act like the “fuck up who didn’t put in any effort” people told me I was.
I remember watching the last stream on my xbox, then taking my phone with me to the bathroom while I showered, and into the kitchen while I grabbed whatever quick food I could get, even had to run to the store real quick and brought my phone in as well and plugged in my headphones cause I didn’t want to miss a second.
Drawing fanart like a rabid animal so I could have something after.
Then crying with every other fan as we all signed off the channel for good.
I won’t ramble anymore but. I missed this, so much. It’s not the same as seeing it when it happened but, I think it’s almost better. When an event becomes a beloved memory, it changes for sure but it changes for the better. Makes you appreciate things, what you had, and what you have now. These are cherished memories to me.
I don’t feel like any of us are “breaking” the rules or failing the cause. We experienced it, and it’s gone. But these are the memories now. Just like looking back at an old photo or 8bit recording of you and your family years past. Cherished.
Thank you for keeping these memories for us. I’m glad we can all come back and reminisce together.

I missed the entirety of Unus Annus, and I have the worst case of FOMO.
Even though these videos are archived and I can still enjoy them now, it isn't the same. The magic of Unus Annus was experiencing it as it happened. So yes, this might be against Mark's wishes, but it truly isn't the same as it would have been watching it now verses then.

I’m so glad this is here, but I wish the final livestream was too. There’s also an episode on here twice, back to back. The Omegle episode is also episode 139, so some how the numbers were screwed up for that aswell. It’s not a mystery ??? Episode. You can find the end livestream on YouTube, all 12 hours. Hopefully the order gets fixed for the next time I watch this, so I don’t skip an episode or 2. Also Unusann.us worked for a bit but now it just won’t load. If it gets fixed, it’ll have the episodes in case this gets taken down

I really mean it. Unus Annus got me through so much. I missed the last two weeks and the livestream because of personal things, and I regret it more than anything. It absolutely killed me when they deleted it, even though that was the whole point. And even though in my heart I know it's over, it's gone... At least now I get to revisit the old memories. Please never get rid of this...
