These are ISO format copies of the 2 QuickRestore CDs for Compaq Presario 5000 PCs.
These disks officially support the following models of Presario 5000 PCs:
5003US
5005SR
5BW220
5BW250
5BW251
5BW284
5BA5000A
5BW5000T
Note that these disks also work with model 5BW280. However it's not "officially" supported by this disk set. If you get an error code 50:4 from QuickRestore, you can override the model check and choose a model manually by doing the following after booting Disk 1:
When the QR program starts up, the QR box flashes.
Hit the caps lock key as soon as you see this screen.
When it stops flashing hit the numlock key and IMMEDIATELY
hit control Q. Then when it asks for your restore floppy
just hit escape.
You should then see a screen showing the models the disks
are valid for. In my case I chose the closest one.
(5BW280). It seems the only differences between these are
bundled applications. The various versions of the Presario
5000 have the same core hardware. (though some may have CD
burners?. Mine did not come with one)
This QuickRestore set will restore a default install of
Windows ME. It does not ask for a CD key for the Windows
install so one will not be provided here plus most machines
should have a CD key under the front cover where the restore
software is meant to be stored on the PC case. (the model
