DESCRIPTION

Family Advocate is an active membership magazine published quarterly by the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. Launched in 1960 as The Family Lawyer, the magazine changed its name to The Family Law Newsletter in 1969, before acquiring its current title in 1978. It is currently an online-only publication.

Each issue features articles, news, and practical information and advice on handling complex family law cases. It is aimed at mental health professionals, judges and family law practitioners involved in divorce, child custody, adoption matters, and other related issues, as well as their clients. The magazine publishes an annual Client Manual to help navigate clients through family law issues.

The Internet Archive Collection contains microfilm published between 1990 and 2013.
