Ready Maid (れでぃ☆めいど) for PlayStation, also known as Mei Puru (めい☆ぷる) for Dreamcast, is port of a PC (Windows) adult visual novel, however the console counterparts have all the adult content removed, and come with jewel-size included Princess Magazine (ぷり☆まが) booklet which features maid illustrations and sketches.
You lost your mother in an accident and are living with your father who is a robotic engineer. One day, your father is hired to make a maid robot so he decides to create a prototype and leave it at house with your for a month. During that time, you are tasked to teach the robot a lot of new things, and pass all the info to your father so he can perfect the maid model prototype.
The game works in a usual visual novel style where bulk of the gameplay consists of reading through the onscreen text which can be fast-skipped at a press of a button. Heroines feature full voice-acting, while side characters and the protagonist do not. There is no animation of any kind during dialogues, characters are merely used in various poses against the backdrop image during conversation. The game story progresses through days and different time of the day is visible on every location. Additionally, you can check the affection status of heroines you have met during the game.
