well, we've split now and i'm attempting to put up this page of MP3s so we can live on in some kind of digital form (the form that we started in...). we're really a 2 piece writing team, with a 3-4 piece live band. mono on vox & bass, (float*)(p->x) on guitars & fx.. 2002 live line-up featured tom on drums. please download as many mp3s as you want/can & enjoy/share them somehow... send us an e-mail if you want. mono will be in cornwall & very bored, and i will be not in cornwall and very bored. also we should mention here Mr Thom Ash who has supplied a few of the remixes downloadable here.
uh oh! there's lots of photos down the side so i have to write a longer bio! right - well, we formed Summer 2000 (formed as in the 2 of us started writing/recording 1951 EP). 2001 we started working on the live band, and played our first gig that summer. January 2002 we played our last gig with Ben & Robbie, and searched out new members. Mono started playing bass live, and we found Tom to play drums for us.
Here are a summary of the albums available to download here - read this if you aren't going to download everything (which i assume is most of you) so that you can download the one that'll be what you'd like the most... erk.
1951 EP - includes 1951, Creeping, Daemon. and some remixes. This isn't the most easy of the CDs to listen to - about half of the tracks on this CD are instrumental. If you liked 'Soulspace' then you might like this CD.
Soulspace - includes Use Me, Stars & Splinters, Inside Outside & a remade version of 1951. Songs on this album made up our 2001 live sets - this CD contains the classic 'soulspace sound'.
Insectasylum - our 'final' and most well known work. includes 'insectasylum' and 'cyde (new version)'. a few tracks off this were played in our 2002 live sets - this is the CD to start off with, it's the most accesible of the 3 CDs, while still in keeping with our sound.
The Stuff you Might not have heard - includes remixes, and a couple of songs that didn't make it onto insectasylum. download this if you already have the other stuff, or if you just want a suprise.. hmm.. also the Robbie/Float instrumental is included - this was done with very little planning & turned out supringly well...
so yeah, enjoy.. esp. if you have broadband.. ;)
