Conjunto Variedad
The nine member band, so named because of the various styles of music encompassed by them, including Salsa (Mambo), Merengue, Cumbia plus a whole array of Puerto Rican Folk or Jibaro Music.
The Band is a combination of veteran players as well as some talented young musicians. Members include the director/keyboardist, Trino Ramírez. He is joined by his talented 16 year old son, Joseph Ramírez on bass to make one of two father-son combinations in the group.
Chris and Israel Matos make the other father-son combo with their harmonious voices and both sharing the lead vocals, coro and guiro. Throw in the very melodious and beautiful voice of Yolanda Torres, who made the crossover from Mariachi and it's a done deal!!!
The percussion section is an all veteran power punch or Orlando Morales on timbales, Eddie Perez on bongo, and George Gomez on congas. The horn section is headed by the magical trumpet of John Onozco and no band is complete without its sound crew live sound engineer, Trino Ramírez, Jr. and crew member Raul "Bully" Ramírez.
