"Track after track of well composed songs, guitar sounds nothing short of brilliant, intense and powerful lyrics and of course one of the most original voices to lead an emo/pop band in a long time." - PunkNews.org
Bayside was formed in October 2000 by Anthony Raneri and Mike Kozak in a basement on Long Island. A set was quickly put together and 5 song demo was recorded. Followed by months of touring, including tours with The Stryder (Equal Vision Records) and Over It (Negative Progression Records), shows with Further Seems Forever (Tooth and Nail Records), Alkaline Trio (Vagrant Records), Fairweather (Equal Vision Records), Rocking Horse Winner (Ohev Records), Squad Five 0 (Tooth and Nail Records), Brand New (Triple Crown Records), the Blamed (Tooth and Nail Records) and GlassEater (Fearless Records), Bayside has created a following of devoted fans up and down the east coast. In the summer of 2001, Bayside released Long Stories Short, their debut album on Dying Wish Records. With the addition of bass player Andrew Elderbaum, formerly of Fast Eddie and drummer Jae Drome, formerly of Long Island's own Minor Dimension and plans for many more tours, the future looks bright for Bayside.
There is a curse on most bands out of Long Island that is seldom broken and that is that if you're of punk or hardcore nature and from Long Island, chances are that you're not leaving Long Island and Bayside promises to be an exception to this rule. With many tours under their belt already, strong intent to only work harder and the recent addition of J&J Artist Management to their entourage, Bayside has become a band to watch out for in the underground and soon to be mainstream music world.
