ArthemesiA´s story begun in the early winter/spring of 1995 A.B. Couple of Dark Souls united their ways and created a band called Celestial Agony, the name was soon to be forgotten and changed into ArthemesiA. Reason for the name change was the fact, that these Souls created more Magickal Black Metal and that they demanded more suitable name for their art. On this original line-up were Valtias Mustatuuli and Routa Salomeri, with few other members who shortly quit the band for some reasons.
ArthemesiA´s debut demo came out in february 1998 and this time they were assisted by Oliver Fokin on drums (Now playing in Ensiferum) and Misery on synths. Misery soon left the band, because she wanted to create something by her own. The reason for this delay of the debut Demo was that ArthemesiA got kicked out from their rehearsal place due to massive alcohol consumig and other disorders and had to look new place for over an year and a half. The demo got very positive reacts from the UG-press and from the Metal followers. Couple of offers were also made for possible record deal, but nothing serious.
1999 A.B. was the year for ArthemesiA´s second demo, named as "The Archaic Dreamer". The demo got outstanding reviews from the press all over the world and also some labels were interested about signing ArthemesiA, but no deals were actually made. ArthemesiA now had steady line-up with new professional and skillful members, Arbaal Mäenpää on guitar/synth, Mor Voryon on Bass and Mor Vethor on drums, and of course Valtias Mustatuuli on vocals and Routa Salomeri on guitar/synth.
Without any record deal and with a very strong thoughts, ArthemesiA booked the Hellhole Studios for february and march of 2000 A.B. and recorded a full-length album. This was very brave move, because ArthemesiA had no financial support and they paid the costs themselves. It was no surprise that they got marvellous reviews of the album from some ´zines and from Metal audience. After the recordings were made, ArthemesiA begun to promote the band among the labels, only few label actually contacted back (Where is the UG-Flame??? Are those "major" labels so big that they don´t have to be in any contact with any bands???). And now, finally at july 2000 A.B., ArthemesiA signed an deal with the Mighty Vikings from Norway, the Native North Records(All the Hails to thee our brothers!!!)
That´s the story this far, let us see what happens in the future. ArthemesiAn flames are burning bright at the moment, but tomorrow is just a another day
