Missing First Set?
There is a video on Youtube of this entire show, yet no copy exist worthy of uploading to this site??? It's like this tour never happened. Speaking as someone who attended all but one show, I have found it odd it has been ignored. Clearly not the best performances. Garcia spoke openly about his feelings afterwards. However I can think of so many ways of how this tour was unique, including the playing. These two St. Pete Nights were very special my friends. listen to the Music, Blow Away, Let it Grow, Playin, Smokestack.

The Grateful Dead are but a mirror to look at your soul. Oh won't you please let it jingle? Give it out so that you drip love like the new born dew falls from the moon. Turn on your lovelight and let it shine shine shine.

great show to have attended
This was a great scene down in St Pete. There were a few blocks of undeveloped area that they allowed Heads to camp on.Man they had showers set up.It was a short walk to the Dali museum agreat little interlude from the excellent party at the camping area.It was across the street from the yacht harbor.A short walk to the show I seem to remember the streets being closed for an upcoming Gran Prix autorace.Oh yeah did mention the Party at the cammping area. These shows were a blast.I guess I'm computer deficient because I don't know how to download gotta hope my girlfriend's college age son's around to do it.I'mjust glad to hear it again.

You cant speak for them
Nothing is really free is it? Its a two way street. The Dead gave plenty and then some I gave the Dead a shitload. Dylan should know that those who give get and those who horde are the real ruse.

JRimLick is a douche bag
What a bunch of unGRATEFUL bastards on this page.
What has given people the idea that they are, for some reason, entitled to 30 years of music from a classic rock band.
Just because the Grateful Dead set the presedent of letting people tape their shows back in the day dosn't mean that in the internet age (which did not exist during the band) any person that "likes the grateful dead" should get to download any availible soundboard quality recording to any show.
Who knows what their policies would have been if they existed in the modern day internet downloading age. The point is none of you ungrateful complainers can apreciate what you have already. ITS NEVER ENOUGH! What other band lets you download any show for free??? Cheese dosn't, forget Phish, Panic dosn't, ERIC CLAPTON dosnt, Jefferson Airplane dosn't.
The point is that the Dead were such a wonderful group of guys that they let us record these shows, and their still letting us listen!!! The only thing is you can't download and "own" it anymore cuz this site got too big and high profile.
Not that I can speak for Bobby, Jerr-Berr, and Phil, but I think their point of letting the shows out was for the people that were there AT the shows to have them and relive the magic of their evening of making music with the Grateful Dead, not for any 16 year old internet nerd who has seen Ratdog twice to be able to get any show they want.
So stop complaining and if you don't like what this website has turned into, fuck right off.
No one owes you anything, but the Grateful Dead gave you everything.

Thank Jah for Internet Archives
Hey Now, As a true fan of the music of the Grateful Dead I am very grateful for all the shows, by all the bands that are archived. These historic shows can be heard by millions who were'nt able to attend the show. I listen over my computer, don't need to download and make a CD cause I got 500 hrs of GD shows on analog tape that I or some one else recorded at the show. This St. Pete show is nice, reflecting the times they were played. Even today 2006 try to tape a rock concert. Most bands will just eject you from the show. Sorry the younger fans missed these wonderful times. Still waiting for the new groups to pick up where the Dead left off. The few today that follow the Dead business model are doing fine. Let's enjoy what's been done. I'm still waiting for the new generation to top what GD did in 40 years of playing. So stop complaining, make some thing better, A New speedway Boogie might be a good place to start!

Damn, if only we could get the whole show from this source! Decent-sounding recordings of this show and the next night have been scarce as hen's teeth for almost 20 years, and this sure does help! This one sounds like a matrix board, with nice, clean, well-mixed sound. One of only four shows to take place in the ol' hometown area during my touring years (1984-95). Unfortunately, the venue was recently torn down, no doubt in the name of "progress".
