Birthday Show - wow
I was being born just two hours away in Scranton, probably right around the time they were bustin into, "Franklin's." Solid show, final of the four-night run. Always loved this one, just getting around to show my appreciation. (~);-)

All-time Promised Land
The guys could really nail Chuck Berry. Unbelievable. I remember listening to this show and recording it live on a good reel-to-reel. The thing about this Promised Land is how Garcia and Keith doubled up on their chorus solos and let things roll over and really tear it up. They didn't always do that and I always wondered how they decided when they would.

Two thumbs up!
okay, this one gets five stars for the second set alone. H>S>FRank is on fire, and the Dancin' is smoking throughout. High energy second set, but the first set is solid as well.

This is one of the coolest slipknots i've ever heard them do- the whole 2nd half of the 2nd set is truly phenominal. check it out- sound quality is great too

One of the better '76 shows
Not my favorite year, as the jams aren't as long or intense or morphing as before the Dead's break from touring. Some of Jerry's ballads, like Wharf Rat, became more moving in '77. One brigt spot in '76 was that Bob and Donna's vocals definately benefitted from the break, as they both stopped screeching in songs such as Sugar Magnolia. Their duets, such as Looks Like Rain and Cassidy, are sweet and in tune.
With this show, the songs are well performed with no mistakes.

Real nice sounding show.
I only have a handful of '76 shows (7 or 8) but other than Dicks Picks 20, this is the best sounding one of the lot. I know how long it takes to get these shows "absolutely perfect" so thanks for all the work on this Dave, Tim and Dudeman (saves me a lot of time).
I'm sure most people just DL, convert to wave and burn. But I've found most shows usually need a little tweeking (at least to bring up the volume a bit, sometimes to equalize left and right channel volume, clean up clicks, pops, hiss between songs, etc. etc.) This takes a long time because you have to go through each song to find the glitches. So I know what these guys did.
Well, It sounds great.
I'm at work so was only able to sample a minute or so of each tune but the boys sound really good to. The show has a nice intimate sound and every instrument is clear in the mix. There sounds like there is some nice jamming going on too.
BTW, I only listened to the vbr MP3 version. I'll grab the shn when I get home. Can't wait to light a fire outside and crank this one up.
Oh yea, thanks again to the archive too. You guys are the best.
