The Dead play amazingly, with everyone apart from Welnick singing beautifully. Literally everyone is playing incredible licks, and the energy is wonderfully intense.
Garcia seems to forget the words to everything, & Hornsby misses a lot of cues & changes on the piano. Plus, Welnick singing is screechingly off-key, bad enough to make Donna Jean embarassed. All this would be fine if not for the recording.
Garcia's guitar is buried at the beginning, but that gets better within the first couple of songs. In general, it's a flat soundboard. The end of UJB, most of Drums & the end of a terrific Weight are missing. I don't know if there are other recordings of this show or not, but if there are, they're probably all better than this one.
