Saint Stephen... exploration!
I imagine Jerry playing these few early 76 Stephens with an eye to seeing how he felt about it, is there a way out of the trap/structure of the song. No matter how popular, there was so much audience expectation and weight on the song... Feels like he's just poking around, as usual live on stage, to see if there is something new to learn about it/what he's doing/the avenues for more...
So... whatever, but I'm really enjoying it right now here early AM almost a year into the "Pandemic!"
I would hope to look back at these in 10 years, as I already have for the crap I wrote in 2004 when I first found the archive!
I feel I can recommend this one, though... right?

Charlie Miller is a Golden God, thanks to this dude I can stand around the lot and rap about shows and years that took place far before my conception was ever thought of. Its like time travel, more for my older friends than I. Its as if I was there with them, when in fact my parents were younger then me at the time. I just get bummed to see all the kids my age and older even that dont know 69 from 79, dont know keith from brent. whatcha gunna do right? theyre loss. i rarely speak of this site to anyone, it was a long strange trip for me to discover it. listening to this music every day is a solemn sacrament thats earned, not a privelage. Long live everyone who was ever a part of making all "this" happen. when people preach of doom and gloom of any kind, spiritual, economic, social all i can ever say is "get high (or dont), and listen to the dead"
