Subject: Great quality for a 73 show captures some great jams!
This is 40 minutes of delightful, float upstream, outer space. Thank you for a real good time.web.archive.org/web/2im_/http://www.insurancelowrate.com/products/images/7.LoL.GIF" alt="7.LoL.GIF" />web.archive.org/web/2im_/http://www.insurancelowrate.com/products/images/6.LoL.GIF" alt="6.LoL.GIF" />

A good matrix compliments each source. In this case you have a decent 73 AUD combined with a nice, very clean if not a little "dull" sbd (lacking just a tiny bit in the high and low end, very high in the mids). I think this is a case where the board compliments the aud. I like a matrix where the aud compliments the board. Either way, I like it! I think it sounds really nice.
Kaplan-that is a great story! It's a bit of a Devil's advocate quote for all those who always quote Jerry talking about how pro-taper he was with the "when we're done with it, it's theirs" statement.
Anyway, as is the case with most 72-74 shows, I tend to pass over the shorter stuff and listen to the jams, so this matrix is nice because it highlights the best part of the show. In a tour/2 month period full of amazing highlights, one might say that this show is rather average, but average for Fall 73 is saying something. That's like saying a Europe 72 show is average for the tour. Average in that regard means "great," whereas great in that era means "transcendent."
Overall this is a very pleasing piece of music featuring every element that makes a good '73 show. Intense post-lyric truckin jamming feeding into long, jazzy jams, scary meltdowns, and beautiful thematic jamming to wrap things up before heading into a ballad. I don't give star ratings as a rule because they skew opinions, and especially because people's enjoyment of this, and all music, is so subjective that very few performances are objectively "great," within a few exceptions...

Subject: is the mind> in the body>?
The dualism of mind/body is old as the dirt we walk on, but none the less needs to be discussed at some point again. Thoughts: where would you think if you had to think about something inside your body? Are you sure it is your body to begin with really what if Jerry's body were the only body we had?? then what? why would that even matter but it does and does not in the duality of thought/body effects.
As we seem to enter into our body again during the base entrance where we all know it is the end of the jam., some how it is all pulled together there. Of course in this drama of dream sequences we may find the body and mind meaning less in there real sense of what is and is not. If we can even manage a stable theoretical existence of knowing that are body is somewhere we might find it again but there all is lost in the stream of these songs here.
So as someone in the audience states "go" or "Yo" we may find that broken angel in the end starting just on that word blip that breaks the dream of the real/unreal dualisms in timeless meaningless knowings of nothing else, as it is.

Subject: GREAT SET
Subject: Nice find!
Despite some vocal sloppiness in Truckin, and the fact that it's only a partial show, I have to give it 5 stars for the excellent sound and the uniqueness and splendor of the jamming out of The Other One. BTW, no way is this an audience tape. The sound is perfect except for a short patch in the Mind Left Body jam.
