The Boneyard intro claims: "This collection contains .tar or .zip files of the collections of these sites, which are then browsable using the Internet Archive's archive view functionality. " Sadly, these hp ftp archives aren't browsable, which makes using this file absurdly impractical. Example: if you need a 100K BIOS upgrade, expect to download a 50GB archive, (broadband users only), then maybe uncompress that, (need maybe another 100GB free space on a disk), after which one can search for the needed file, by name -- assuming one knows the name, or if the name of the file is inferable by its title. Supposing the search is successful, and the 100K BIOS is found, that procedure used 500,000 times more bandwidth than necessary, and 1.5 million times more disk space. Two stars, in hopes that somebody eventually uses this archive to create something more practical.
