The story behind this was, "What would the Ramones have sounded like WITHOUT the incredibly unique vocal stylings of Joey Ramone??" You're about to find out! (Actually, I just never bothered to learn the lyrics) The CD was mixed to sound like the Ramones' first album, (guitar and bass in opposite speakers) but the songs are played at a much faster tempo!! I think some die-hard Ramones fans will be pleased. So enjoy, and remember, there is NO singing!

The ensembles will vary in size (duos, trio, up to large groups of 15 or more), instrumentation, level of exposure of the artists, and duration. Some will come together for a single performance, others will continue as long-term artistic collaborations. We will host a 4 month virtual residency for 50 musicians followed by an in-person residency with public...

Just when you thought Botany Bay was making promises they couldn't keep - "Grounded" is finally here. And it has managed to not only keep the promises made, but quite a few besides that were never actually made. Yes, it's emotion-packed, intimate and intense - what do you expect when someone puts all their heart and soul into an album? But at times it's also suprisingly funny and playful - while still remaining seamless and of a piece. And: The whole album is licensed under a creative...

In this nine-minute oceanic musical sound saga about a shipwreck at sea, singing whales come to the rescue. Entertaining yet profound. Main sound source is a water mister for plants whose sounds have been treated with various FXs such as VSamp and SoundHack. Short vignettes from other works by the composer pop up here and there. Post 9-11 update of Neptunes 2000. Mp3.

Camping at the Prince William Forest Preserve in Va., millions of these dusk singing cicadas piped up at dusk creating this incredible spellbinding sound compelling me to play flute with them. Tibicen Aulette is the species identified as the dusk singer, yet Tibicen Linei is the species recorded and expanded into multitrack on this recording because they make the sound I heard.

Inspired by short wave number stations and the Conet Project, Botany Bay's newest single, "Voices" shows the band at a faster and harder pace, while retaining their intensity and dealing with the subconcious. This is the official video clip for the single. It's Creative Commons licenced, as is the song (and all other tracks of Botany Bay too, btw).

Remember Books on Tape? Of course you do! Remember his once-fledging netlabel Subverseco? I sure hope so! In this sublime set, Ali plays acoustic with musical mates on the njarka (one string violin), and the gurkel (two string instrument w/metal piece for buzz) and calabash (gourd used for percussion). Ali talks about what family and his community in Niafunke mean to him.

A collection of works that explore the rich and evocative legend of King Arthur. The exploits of Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table have been a staple of British literature through the centuries, drawing together themes of pagan wizardry, the search for the Holy Grail, chivalry and of course romance. Versatile musician Chris Dack covers all the songs from Yoshi's Island (1995) playing all the instruments, to the best of his ability. A rare treat. Worth a listen. NOTE: Not all the notes are right, but don't be too disappointed. Official website Personal MySpace Music Page
