5/14/22 Update - response to reviews below. There is no virus.
You cannot run this software on a modern computer. It's compatible with operating systems released in the late 1990s and early 2000s; more than 20 years ago as of the date of this comment.
Per Corel's WordPerfect Office 12 review guide, this product is only certified to work on the following operating systems:
- Windows® Server 2003, Windows XP (with SP1 Home or Professional Edition), Windows 98 SE, Windows NT® 4.0 (with SP6a), or Windows 2000 (with SP4)

Virus? test on VM first if your that concern.
I Used VMWARE. Nothing for the CO is working. looks like either it's a campat issue with modern-day OS - Win 10 or it is a form of a virus. no matter, I've flushed my testbed Virtual machine and deleted this app
