1950s variety TV special with Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Danny Thomas, and Barbara Perry. Sponsored by Oasis cigarettes, who have a very catchy jingle, and Chesterfield cigarettes. Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra plug the products. Note: the opening song is a bit splicy. A later part of the program is also a bit splicy. Most of the program is not like this. A search of TV schedules shows this aired on NBC at 9:00PM on 1 February 1958, aired against "Oh Susanna" and "Have Gun,...

An unsold TV pilot from 1963 called "The Plot Thickens". Same concept as the early 1950s series "Crawford Mystery Theatre" (of which only a single kinescope survives...anyone able to upload it?). In this pilot, a panel is shown a short film about a crime, and then has to guess who the guilty person is. Features Groucho Marx as one of the panel members.

A brief interview with British singer Cilla Black. Done in Sydney, Australia (which as far as I know is nowhere near any desert - Sorry Cilla). I believe this was filmed for the Nine Network, which presumably still hold the rights to the footage. I had previously uploaded this, removed it, but here it is again. I hope I don't get copyright strike for it. Hey Nine Network, how about making more of your classic shows available on your streaming service Stan?

A collection of 1950s television clips (edited together by me!), featuring singers that Prince Vegeta hasn't heard of. Some of these singers were well-known at the time and are still remembered by those alive at the time. Some of these singers are noteworthy in some way. Some of them were obscure then and obscure now. Some of them don't matter in the slightest. But all of them are very talented! Over 20 singers, with clips from 14 different television series.

Please forgive me for the poor picture and sound. This is an (incomplete?) episode of "Frankie Laine Time", a summer replacement series. Lots of music and dancing.

An episode (I don't know the exact date) of the 1954 version of "The Frankie Laine Show". While most 1950s variety series were live with an audience, this one is filmed with a fake audience-track. Lots of music, plus an acrobat act.

A 1968 episode of game show "Dream House". Complete with original commercials (since this is a daytime show, it features more ads than a prime-time show, but the ads are rather fun). Most episodes of this series are presumed lost, and oddly enough the 1980s revival is also largely lost. This show was controversial as many of the homes won in the show were not built. Still, an enjoyable bit of fluff.

An episode of the ABC game show "Stop the Music" from 1955. Among the contestants include a sailer (and his buddies) and a fireman. Format has some simularities to "Name that Tune", which debuted later ("Stop the Music" first came to TV in 1949).

Amusing episode of the popular 1950s half-hour anthology TV series. This episode stars David Niven as an eccentric Earl, and is a comedy episode set in England. It is based on a story by P. G. Wodehouse. It's interesting that the occasional comedy episodes of "Four Star Playhouse" did not use a laugh track, and indeed, David Niven said in a newspaper interview that he hated laugh tracks. This episode has also been shown under the series titles "Star Performance",...

A low budget comedy show, but the talented Jonathan Winters did not need fancy sets nor props. There's also a guest singer named Jeri Southern who has two interesting assets.

Here's a rare episode of "As the World Turns" from April 10th 1957. This popular soap opera ran from 1956 to 2010. This classic episode also contains the original commercials for the following products: Comet Cleanser, Oxydol, Camay, and Ivory Snow. Image is a bit distorted at times.

A Christmas episode of "The Liberace Show" from 1954. This series featured piano player Liberace. The episode contains him mostly playing the piano with a handful of singing moments. Uploaded in 512Kb format because of my extremely slow internet connection.
