This is a great collection of most, if not all, Dreamcast games in the superior CHD format. My only complaint is that there are 3 folders, 2 for normal DC games and another one for Non-Redump. One of the DC folders has less games than the other one. It's just a minor gripe that confused me the first time I used this source, but other than that, it's a great collection.

First off, thanks for the hard work you put into this! Second, any chance of making .chd files for the Atomiswave ports from Dreamcast-talk.com? Thanks.

I got a CUE error after splitting using Andearoid's DreamcastCHD_tools, how did you rollback?

Just wanted to mention that it is now possible to create .chd from .cue/.bin (and rollback) for all dreamcast roms, with the exception of MIL-CD (CD-Rom XA) games. Both Flycast and Redream seem to support .chd created from .cue/.bin.

The problem is that all Redump GDI to CHD conversions are bad and they should be deleted (Redump dumps contain more data so the offsets are wrong).

MAME's chdman previously created corrupted CHDs, but now they can take the CUE and create GDI-compatible, and more importantly correct CHDs. If your emulator of choice doesn't support that (which it should because it's using the TOSEC layout under the hood), there's something wrong with your emulator and not with MAME/Redump.

You've probably followed the discussion in #7422 but if you're not aware: Converting every CUE+BINs Redump (except for MIL-CD which don't currently work in the CHD format) to CHD is a good (intermediate) step and hopefully MAME gets their act straight and supports the superior Redump layout in the future (hopefully with CHDv6 which will come eventually).

The MAME team said that they will not support this type of conversion, therefore CUE > CHD will not work in emulators for the moment.

To make them work you have to transform the cue to gdi and then convert to chd.

Thx for all the chd conversions, it's the future.

@ChadMaster If you can then do not remove the GDI -> CHD assembly. The lr-flycast emulator is not yet compatible with chdman 0.227. Games converted from CUE -> CHD do not start.

Some atomiswave games dc ports are in testing phase, I'm waiting some patches to be more matured before I convert those to CHD, but it's in my plan list ;)

If I generated CHD through cue files the games won't be loaded by emulators such as flycast. That's why!

You don't need to replace the cue by the gdi, you can have both in the same folder, and choose the format that pleases the most the emulator you're using, you can download the gdi files here: http://redump.org/downloads/
Unfortunately, redump didn't supply GDI files for all games.
