"Chrysovergouli" is a fairy tale from Leros island in Dodecanese recorded in 2004 and "The King Snake" is a fairy tale from Kakasd, in Hungary, recorded in 1950. The study of these two fairy tales is at the same time a general look at the characteristics of the fairy tale as a genre, in rules, its aesthetic and stylistic features, the functions and the actors (based on the morphology of Prop), the highlighting of the local elements and the recognition of the fairy-tale types. This essay is limited to the first parts of the two fairy tales.
