Description
This sequel to Tetris: The Grand Master keeps the same basic concept as its predecessor, but with some upgraded gameplay and a new Normal mode, which stops at level 300 and awards two special, helpful items at earlier level thresholds.
The original gameplay is now referred to as Master mode, which has an overhauled ranking system. Rank is now independent of score, instead being determined by the frequency of lines being cleared and the player's current combo, and it is now more difficult overall to achieve a high rank. Once again, Master and Grand Master are achieved by hitting a certain rank in a specified amount of time. 20G is now even faster at high levels, as it takes an even shorter amount of time for pieces to lock into place.
