Description
Checkmate is a variant of Blockade, the first light cycle game. This version can be played by up to four human players and if played in single player the three opponents are AI controlled. The gameplay works the same as in Blockade with each player controlling an arrow that leaves behind a trail of blocks. If a player crashes into any of the blocks on the screen it will be destroyed and its trail will disappear. The other players will then score one point. The game goes on until only one player remains. Depending on settings each game consists of two to five rounds.
