Description
Azumanga Daioh Puzzle Bobble is a spin-off of the Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble series starring characters from the Azumanga Daioh anime/manga series. As with other installments in the series, the object of the game is match colored bubbles to clear the screen of bubbles. To do so, the player (controlling either one of Azumanga Daioh's six main schoolgirls) launches a bubble from the bottom of the screen towards the top and tries to attach it to bubbles of the same color. Once three or more bubbles match, they are removed from the playing field. Removing extra bubbles of unrelated colors gives extra points. After destroying a certain number of bubbles, a new row appears at the top of the screen. Once the bubbles reach a certain line at the bottom part of the screen, the game is over.
Players can play in Story Mode, where the player's objective is to survive six stages of bubble-popping mayhem to reach the final encounter with Miss Yukari, the girls' blissfully insane English teacher, Puzzle Mode, or the winner-take-all Versus Mode.
