Subject: One of the alltime classics!

First got to see this demo back in the day on a DX40 based PC. It was pretty mesmerizing(especially due to the music) and one got hooked fast. Way better than the "Disney-fied" successors.

To be able to play the game successfully, and beat the full version, it's recommended to use a keyboard/mouse combo... like Doom the game really opens up and a new dimension of playing dynamics(and fun) unfold. It's most likely impossible to beat the later levels of the full game with only a mouse. It's a real pity that no officials extension from Blizzard were released.

The Very first thing I did in the game is ordered one of my troops to kill another and I watched in excitement as he walked over and then he actually killed him and I was down one person. ten/ten

Subject: I just remembered how crazy the 3rd stage of the demo is...

I played and successfully defeated the first 2 stages of this demo right now. The third one looks absurdly hard to even start doing something with all those enemies already attacking you like hell.

I remember that I had this same impression when I was a kid and played this demo for the first time. I only did not remember any more about it. This was an extremely nice experience to play Warcraft 1 again. (Oh, by the way... I also played a lot the original full version back when I was a kid. It was great!).

I even showed this archive.org demo to a friend's little son who is pretty much addicted to Minecraft and the boy got really hooked to Warcraft. It was nice to see the game still had got an appeal even for the new generation :-)
