It offered daily coverage of the international telecommunicaitons industry. News stories were republished by more than 150 magazines, newspapers, news sources, and online systems worldwide.
According to Wikipedia: Newsbytes "was founded in May, 1983 in San Francisco, California by broadcast journalist Wendy Woods, who remained editor in chief for the 19 years of its existence. It was the oldest continually publishing tech news wire service (1983–2002)."
The Washington Post Company acquired Newsbytes in 1997. The company discontinued the news service on May 31, 2002.
