I had never heard of this until I saw "Portrait of a Young Artist" on Audible. Checked it out on Internet Archive and boom! all here. Outstanding! So many classics, amazing

Great old time radio
I've been listening to old NBC University Theater productions since I was 13 years old and started checking them out from my public library's cassette library. That's 35 years! These productions are/were delightful, and their production value is still impressive even when compared to the modern day podcasts I currently enjoy. My favorites remain the "Penrod" adaptation and "The Treasure of Franchard." I am thrilled to find so many titles free to access here at

"480730_001_Main_Street" a Fake?
0:23 into this program (After we hear the announcer tel us that it's "The 3rd in the Series"), there's a slight Break, and a drop in volume. That's because, in reality, this is a 'doctored-up' version of "490102_022_Main_Street". Yet that doesn't alter the fact this IS a great series. Thanks for posting it.

I am surprised..............
to be the first to comment on this great Anthology series!!!!!!!! I've listened to roughly about 50 of these so far in the course of a few years and I find the high majority of these extremely engrossing! It's right up there with Screen Director's Playhouse, Screen Guild on the Air and On Stage as some of my favorite anthology series.
Highly recommended!
