MAME (an acronym of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is a free and open source emulator designed to recreate the hardware of arcade game systems in software on modern personal computers and other platforms. The intention is to preserve gaming history by preventing vintage games from being lost or forgotten. The aim of MAME is to be a reference to the inner workings of the emulated arcade machines; the ability to actually play the games is considered "a nice side effect". Joystiq has listed MAME as an application that every gamer should have.

Thanks for this great archive. but I have no idea how to use some files.
I guess that the five folders in this archive(artwork, ctrlr, dats, folders, samples) should be overwritten over the same folders in MAME emulator.
And I presume that several ZIP files should be un-packed and placed in the each folder of MAME emulator which has the same name. Is it right?
But I do not know how to use the rest of the files. ARTPREVIEW.ZIP, BOSSES.ZIP, COVER_SL.ZIP, MANUALS_SL.ZIP(not manuals.zip), LOGO.ZIP, VERSUS.ZIP and so on. There are too many files in this archive that do not have folders(or files) with the same name in MAME emulator. What is the use of these files?
