KEVIN MARTIN AND THE HIWATTS | OFFICIAL TAPING POLICY | December 2, 2003
Audience taping is permitted at all shows, whether audio or video. Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts/Tympanic Records believe that the taping and proliferation of such live recordings promotes fan interaction and is an invaluable grassroots marketing tool.
There are, however, a few simple guidelines that the band insists be followed. With responsible recording, use, and distribution, fans will continue to enjoy the privelege of taping Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts live performances. These guidelines are as follows:
A copy of any recording made of the band is provided to them in a timely fashion. You can contact our webmaster for options on how to do this.
When KMHW opens for a band or plays in a venue that does not allow taping, the taping policy of the headlining band or venue supercedes KMHW's policy for that evening.
No recording gear or electricity will be supplied; be sure you have all the necessary equipment. Soundboard feeds may be provided on a case-by-case basis. This is entirely at the band's discretion.
Please be polite while taping by keeping in mind the crew and concert-goers around you. A fan's show experience should never be dampened by microphones or stands.
Duplication of unreleased performances by Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts is authorized for the following uses: personal, non-commercial uses: archival/back-up; gifts; the trading of compact discs, cassettes, mini discs, and other media; "blanks and postage" offers; free transfer of digital music files over computer networks (including the Internet).
All taping must be for personal and non-commercial use only. No profit is ever to be made from live shows. You are permitted to trade shows with other fans for an equal amount of media. 2-for-1 trading is considered profiteering and will not be tolerated.
If you particpate in the free exchange of Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts' music, you acknowledge and respect the copyrights and exclusive ownership of the music and performances by them. Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts and Tympanic Records reserve the right to seek legal remedies against anyone that is in violation of this policy.
