Do I detect sarcasm? Probably warranted. Just thought the way Reade described the coda as "almost a lullaby", suggested perhaps the connection had not been made. Meow.

I've never heard the same melody, or chord progression between the two, though of course the intent was identical, at least with this Houston performance in '72.

I just love how back in those days any given night seemed considerably more open to possibilities, prior to show formats and set lists becoming more standardized. Sending folks out on that tune, not at all a show closer by any means as we all know, but pulling it off remarkably with that last part of GDTRFB specially tailored to fit the evening, was pretty great.

kinda sorta maybe indirectly ... not really.... lol

i just dont think everybody makes that connection ... i have said that to others before and even after singing along with it they say its not the same ... some like caps and some like stems i guess
