Something tells me that uTorrent as compared to FreeDownloadManager, FlashGet, Reget, Internet Download Manager do have different protocols.

Couldn't you make us a favour to make use one of the latter ones instead? Say, both FreeDownloadManager and Flashget have portable versions and are completely free software.

There is something wrong with the network, and I cannot find out where. Earlier, in the past there were no problems alike.

I wonder why is none interested in clearing the issue?

uTorrent can download archive.org files, true.

But all other download managers cannot do that.

Still no interest?

at this point you are athe only person who has mentioned this issue. I will pass your concerns to an engineer. in the meantime i'd suggest using uTorrent (which is free).

Same here. U torrent works just fine but slow and nothing else. This site is U Torrent biased!

ok, i spoke with our torrent engineer. sounds like what you are using might be plugins rather than clients. most or all plugins do not support GetRight style webseeding. We use the GetRight style for a variety of reasons. bottom line is you should use a client like uTorrent.

and as an aside, if you are in a country that has blocked archive.org such as India or China that could also explain the failures.

Meanwhile 1/ I have installed GetRight, 2/ I have also changed my router, 3/ I have enabled Ports 80 and 443 and HTTP and HTTPS features on my router; GetRight still will not download any files from archive org. I'm now trying it from Germany, though from Russia and the Baltics it was OK. uTorrent works ok, but this is not a comparable thing, imho. I would like to know which Port should/could be enabled or else tried then, provided that archive.org is running the https protocol? I'm attaching a screenshot concerning a try with GetRight.

To put any doubts aside, I have downloaded -- while using the 5 aforementioned download managers (FreeDownloadManager, Internet Download Manager, ReGet Deluxe, FlashGet, GetRight 6.5) --- several files from Russian and German servers for free software (all kinds of free programs), and thus no problems up to now have arisen. So, I do claim that there is something wrong with your server. You should probably explain what substantial changes have been made to the settings of your server lately that further downloading is getting not possible at present. I'm still using Windows XP SP3 software and a T61 IBM notebook for downloading.

Not sure if it's related, but Time Warner Cable had misconfigured DNS for archive.org from 1/10 until 1/12 GMT. If you still have trouble now, this information is probably not relevant.

There is still no automatic downloading from your server exceptionally, e.g.,I have tried the following link:

GetRight Pro 6.5 unable to connect and / or verify the above connection.

I have purchased a totally new router, never used one in order to make any tunings which are important.
Say, to introduce any https protocol features as necessary, parent to archive.org.

Earlier, several years ago, I downloaded any files from archive org in Germany while using the aforementioned download managers (no plugins!). No problems arose.

I need some qualified help to put it through anyway.
Maybe,I'm signalling as the very first one apropos of the kind of that erroneous behaviour of the network in question.
